MENTALITY '(ie: in Denmark we eat in the head)

Danish Mentality I am in Copenhagen for work and the place was chosen to make the meetings of the project for which we have here is a high school, the Gymnasium Orestad, just outside the city.

You exit the metro station and we are faced with a brand new neighborhood with buildings of glass and steel, surrounded by lush gardens and wooden equipment. In fact, a road is dedicated to Arne Jacobsen, architect who made the history of design.
You walk a bit 'and then you come to the building, a sort of glass cube with colored vertical blinds on the windows and moving - so they say - with the movement of the sun. We do not think we ever see them in action as the weather is gray and the sun does not seem to see it.
A look around seems to be in a landscape space, or in a rendering a study of architecture: buildings made of glass, gardens, monorail ..
And if I come in, here's one that thinks "Well, we joked, but now let me see the school itself." If in fact the first thing looked like a fake, the environment inside is so great that it seems unreal! Just past the revolving door glass, the first room you see is the bar: 9 blacks high tables with stools so cool design, then a staircase going down, and each "landing" other tables and chairs. The chairs which are unused "suspended" because each table has a system under the plan that allows you to hang the chairs so you can clean without having to turn on the table. Brilliant!
This sort of scale ends up in a window that defines this common area with fitness. In which we are fortunate to see the beginning of a lesson. Given that the lessons are 100 minutes each, time, education is structured as follows: men and women together, loud music (I was lucky enough to hear a great remix of "Take on me" by A-Ha. Moreover, this Scandinavia is, and that Norway, Sweden or Denmark, this is all a big family ..), there is a long time, then you put in a circle and start the exercises, which are a mixture of stretching and physical exercises and real own. Meanwhile, the teacher (a chick with a pink tank top, dark blue leggings and shorts over a pair of green terrycloth water ..) change the songs in the second year is to do. Outstanding! And the first hour goes away as well, with the guys who have to f *** to do stretching and girls who are committed to the Orchid (ah, there were also some Muslim: all strictly veiled!) . But back inside, a huge spiral staircase rises from the light wood floor on the third floor, interrupted by steps that lead to individual plans. On each floor there are classrooms, all with glass walls, so that if you are on the board and not everyone can have an idea know! Every so often there are wooden cylinders plus or minus 2 feet high: the personal lockers. Besides tables, tables and chairs.
At each corner of each floor there are internet point, all free, and with about a dozen each iMac (the school has about 120 computers, all iMac, among the public and presents for teachers).
Finally, on each floor, there is a circular lounge of acid green or orange, full of soft bags, where you can lie down and rest.
And at a football ground. Always busy from the boys. But that does not scream, do not mess. It does not soil the walls, not to put paper on the ground, are not written with felt pens in the lockers (also because some doors are made of a material for which you can write to them and then delete ..) and have no impact phrases like "Ingo Annika and 3 meters above the sky" on the wood.
short, a kind of school is light years away from the schools of our country. Obviously this is an extreme example (and this is what we also confirmed the Danish partner) but it seems incredible that - at a time when the Italian school is facing serious problems of bullying - in other parts of the problem is to move the football the side of the bar to where there is amministrazion, so he gives less discomfort because the classes they are studying, and more - the position in front of the administration - stops the kids from playing too often.
